Photography Website Development
Web development / Front-end Development / Fall 2023
˗ˏˋ background ´ˎ˗
As a project, I was passionately engaged in the development of a photography website using HTML. This project reflects my commitment to blending my interest in photography with my skills in web development. I crafted a visually appealing and user-friendly platform to showcase my portfolio, while also ensuring a seamless and immersive experience for visitors.
In crafting my photography website, I divided the project into four phases:
1) defining goals, audience, and pages
2) developing the site map
3)wireframing critical pages
4) building the actual pages using HTML

I created a diagram outlining the hierarchical structure of my website, where each page serves a distinct purpose in offering a cohesive and engaging user experience. Beginning with the Portfolio section, visitors are treated to a curated selection of my finest travel and outdoor photography, showcased through both a general gallery and specialized exhibits like Travel Photography and Outdoor Photography.
Transitioning to the About page, I invite audiences to delve into my personal narrative, uncovering the origins of my photographic passion, alongside insights into my philosophy, approach, and social media presence. The Services page serves as a comprehensive hub, detailing the array of photography offerings, including Travel and Outdoor Photography services, pricing, packages, and booking information, streamlining the process for potential collaborators and clients.
Meanwhile, the Blog section offers a dynamic platform for storytelling and knowledge sharing, with regular updates on recent photography adventures, travel anecdotes, tips, and outdoor exploits. Finally, the Contact Us page provides a direct line of communication, featuring contact information and an email form for inquiries, facilitating seamless interaction and collaboration opportunities. Together, these pages form the backbone of my online presence, inviting visitors to explore, engage, and embark on a visual journey through my lens.
Before diving into HTML construction, I meticulously crafted a visual mockup of my website's design showing each page's layout and graphical elements. This blueprint provided a clear roadmap for translating my vision into a polished and cohesive online presence, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to execution.

After finalizing the visual mockup, I delved into coding the website using HTML, translating my design into a functional digital reality. With meticulous attention to detail, I crafted each page, ensuring clean code and optimal user experience. Utilizing GitHub as my development platform, I uploaded the HTML files, facilitating collaboration and version control throughout the project's lifecycle.
This process not only streamlined the construction of the website but also provided invaluable insights into web development practices and project management. Through hands-on coding, I gained a deeper understanding of HTML's capabilities and its role in shaping the online landscape.
Moreover, navigating GitHub enhanced my proficiency in version control, enabling me to effectively manage changes and iterations. Overall, this project served as a transformative learning experience, empowering me with practical skills and a tangible portfolio piece to showcase my evolving expertise in web design and development.
